Coastal Critters

Week 1 (June 9-13), Week 4 (June 30-July 3)

Discover the wonders of coastal wildlife with the Living Coast! Campers will meet animals up close during daily encounters and enjoy activities like crafts, nature walks, and games. With every day offering new adventures, this camp is perfect for curious minds and young explorers!

During camp, we will:

Day 1:

  • Talk about what a coast is.
  • Make a coastal craft. 
  • Meet an animal.

Day 2:

  • Learn about native bird species.
  • Play a fun game.
  • Meet an animal ambassador.

Day 3:

  • Make a reptile craft.
  • Play a game.
  • Meet a coastal reptile.

Day 4:

  • Talk about fish and sharks.
  • Make a coast-themed craft.
  • Participate in an animal feeding.

Day 5:

  • Look at sharks and rays.
  • Make a craft.
  • Play an animal-themed game.

Down by the Bay

Week 2 (June 16-20)

Channel your inner explorer with the Living Coast! Through encounters with our animal ambassadors and other camp activities, campers will learn all about the different animals that call the San Diego Bay home.  

During camp, we will:

Day 1:

  • Learn about the San Diego Bay.
  • Make a craft. 
  • Meet an animal.

Day 2:

  • Meet an animal.
  • Go on a trail walk.
  • Play a fun game.

Day 3:

  • Make a craft.
  • Get close to a reptile ambassador.
  • Learn about local reptiles.

Day 4:

  • Explore our Shark & Ray exhibit.
  • Make a craft
  • Feed an animal.

Day 5:

  • Have an animal encounter.
  • Make a craft.
  • Learn about birds.

Feathered Friends

Week 3 (June 23-27)

Soar into camp with the Living Coast! Campers are provided with opportunities to enjoy entertaining games, meet our live animal ambassadors, and express their creativity through crafts. Campers will be flying high with a new adventure each day!

During camp, we will:

Day 1:

  • Learn what makes birds special.
  • Play a game. 
  • Meet a bird.

Day 2:

  • Learn about bird beaks.
  • Read a story
  • Meet an animal.

Day 3:

  • Make a bird craft.
  • Play a game.
  • Get up close with an animal ambassador.

Day 4:

  • Tour our Raptor Row.
  • Learn about bird feathers.
  • Feed an animal.

Day 5:

  • Have an animal encounter.
  • Make a craft.
  • Play a game.
