DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP \nThanks for your interest in joining us for our Trail to Bay Challenge hike at Otay Valley Regional Park on June 4\, 2022. \nDate: June 4\, 2022\nCheck-in time: 8:30 am\nHike start: 9:00 am\nDuration: 1-2 hours \nHiking level: EASY \nMeeting Location: We will meet just north of the parking lot located at the ranger station at 2369 Beyer Blvd\, San Diego\, CA 92173. Look for the large flag with the Trail to Bay Challenge logo! \nDriving directions: From I-805: Take I-805 south to the Main Street exit. Turn right onto Main St and continue for approximately 2.2 miles. Turn left onto Broadway and continue as it turns into Beyer Blvd. The entrance to the parking lot will be on your right\, roughly .5 mile from Main Street. \nSuggested parking: This park offers a dirt/gravel lot with limited spaces. This lot is located at 2369 Beyer Blvd\, San Diego\, CA 92173. ** Please note that this lot does not open if there is rain. \nNearest Trailhead and Restrooms to meeting location: The nearest restrooms are located next to the ranger station off of Beyer Blvd. \nHike lengths: This location will provide two hike options. A shorter hike will be led around Fenton pond and is approximated to be ¾ of a mile. The second hike will be a longer fasted paced hike that will walk alongside Fenton pond and then into a meadow area. DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP \nThanks for your interest in joining us for our Trail to Bay Challenge hike at Church Canyon on June 12\, 2022. A patch of nature located within the confines of a neighborhood\, Church Canyon is a great example of how visiting nature can be as easy as walking into our own backyards. With water and geologic features\, we’ll discuss the history of the canyon and how we know this based on what we’re seeing. Depending on the time of year\, we might even get a chance to witness the chalk dudleya sprouting its protective blossoms. \nDate: June 12\, 2022\nCheck in time: 8:00 am\nHike start: 8:30 am\nDuration: 1-2 hours \nHiking level: MODERATE \nPlease see below for information on the site location and details. \nMeeting Location: Camino del Rey trail entrance\, located west of Via Mar Azul (please refer to map below). Trail head located south of homes. \nDriving Directions: From I-805 S\, exit E Orange Ave / Olympic Pkwy (Exit 4) and turn left onto Olympic Parkway / E Orange Ave. Continue for 2 miles\, then turn left onto Heritage Rd. Continue for ½ a mile onto Paseo Ranchero\, then turn left onto Camino Del Ray. Trail head will be on your left. \nSuggested Parking: Street parking in neighborhood available on Camino del Rey. Please carpool if possible. Due to parking within neighborhood\, please be respectful and use open areas first before parking in front of homes. \nTrailhead Location: .2 miles NorthWest of parking lot on left \nRestrooms and Water: No restrooms or water stations\, please plan accordingly. \nHike Length: 2.5 miles (loop) with 900 ft elevation gain. Summit at 1.3 mile mark. Although it is a shorter hike\, the inclines are steeper and the trails are 1.5 persons in width. \nRecommended Gear: Water pack / bottle\, hiking poles (if desired)\, long pants / tall socks preferred\, hiking shoes with proper support \nNo pets will be allowed on the hike.
