DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP HERE \nDate: March 5\, 2022\nCheck in tine: 8:30 am\nHike start: 9:00 am \nHiking level: EASY \nMeeting Location: We will meet just north of the parking lot located at the ranger station at 2369 Beyer Blvd\, San Diego\, CA 92173. Look for the large flag with the Trail to Bay Challenge logo! \nDriving directions: From I-805: Take I-805 south to the Main Street exit. Turn right onto Main St and continue for approximately 2.2 miles. Turn left onto Broadway and continue as it turns into Beyer Blvd. The entrance to the parking lot will be on your right\, roughly .5 mile from Main Street. \nSuggested parking: This park offers a dirt/gravel lot with limited spaces. This lot is located at 2369 Beyer Blvd\, San Diego\, CA 92173. ** Please note that this lot does not open if there is rain. \nNearest Trailhead and Restrooms to meeting location: The nearest restrooms are located next to the ranger station off of Beyer Blvd. \nHike lengths: This location will provide two hike options. A shorter hike will be led around Fenton pond and is approximated to be ¾ of a mile. The second hike will be a longer fasted paced hike that will walk alongside Fenton pond and then into a meadow area. DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP HERE \nThanks for your interest in joining us for our Trail to Bay Challenge hike at Kwaay Paay Sunrise Hike in Mission Trails Regional Park on March 13\, 2022. One of the five major peaks in Mission Trails\, it is part of the 5-Peak Challenge. Challenges are a great way to get motivated and meet new people! Many of the native plants and wildlife found here are similar to what is found in our local hikes around Chula Vista. At the peak\, there will be 360 views of San Diego County. \nDate: March 13\, 2022\nCheck in time: 5:30 am\nHike start time: 6:00 am\nCapacity: 20 people\nHiking level: HARD \n***This is an adults only hike due to safety precautions.*** \nMeeting Location: Gate on west side of lot. (near trash and recycling bins). Parking lot address: Bushy Hill Dr\, Santee\, CA 92071 (at transect of Bushy Hill Dr. and Father Junipero Serra Trail. \nDriving Directions: From CA-125 N\, exit Mission Gorge Rd on left. Continue down Mission Gorge Road for 1.7 miles\, then take slight right onto Father Junipero Serra Trail. Lot will be on left. \nSuggested Parking: Main dirt lot on Bushy Hill Dr. Some street parking available on Father Junipero Serra Trail. \nTrailhead Location: .2 miles NorthWest of parking lot on left. \nRestrooms and Water: No restrooms or water stations\, please plan accordingly. \nHike Length: 2.5 miles (loop) with 900 ft elevation gain. Summit at 1.3 mile mark. Turn left onto Bonita Road and continue approximately 2.2 miles. Turn right onto Otay Lakes Road and continue approximately 1.3 miles. Turn right onto Avenida Del Rey\, then turn left onto N Rancho Del Rey Parkway. In approximately .4 mile the entrance to Rice Canyon Open Space Preserve will be on the right. \nSuggested parking: This park offers a dirt/gravel lot with limited spaces. This lot is located at 1242 Cima Del Rey\, Chula Vista\, CA 91910 \nNearest Trailhead and Restrooms to meeting location: Unfortunately this location does not offer restrooms so guests should plan accordingly. There is a green space park nearby that may offer restrooms. \nHike lengths: This location has only one entrance into the trail so we will make a half mile hike into the trail and then turn around\, totaling our hike 1 mile in length. \nLinks for more information:\n• hikingsdcounty.com/rice-canyon/ \nMasks are required for all guests participating in a Living Coast Discovery Center education program regardless of vaccination status.
