SUMMARY:Clean Up: San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Team Up to Clean Up event at Sweetwater Marsh to help protect and care for our coastal environment! Participants will pick up trash throughout the protected marsh and learn about the native plants and wildlife in the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Help us make a difference by keeping this critical coastal habitat clean! \nDate: April 25\, 2026\nTime: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM\nLocation: Living Coast Discovery Center \n\n \n\nMeeting Location: We will meet in the Living Coast Discovery Center parking lot\, located off Gunpowder Point Drive in Chula Vista\, CA 91910. Once you park your vehicle\, look for the Living Coast canopy for check-in!  \n\n\nDriving Directions: From the I-5 freeway\, take exit 8B onto E St. Head west to the Living Coast Discovery Center parking lot.   \n\n\nSuggested Parking: Parking is available at the Living Coast Discovery Center Parking Lot.   \n\n\nRestrooms: The nearest restrooms are inside the Living Coast Discovery Center\, near the front doors. You do not have to pay to use the restrooms\, but if visitors enter the facility to see the exhibits\, they must pay the admission fee.   \n\n\nProgram Supplies: Buckets\, trash bags\, gloves\, safety vests\, and grabbers will be provided. Please make sure to bring water and wear comfortable clothes\, closed-toed shoes\, and sun/bug protection!

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Safari Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join us every Saturday as we explore the Sweetwater Marsh Trail on the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge! We will learn about the history of the Sweetwater Marsh\, the salt marsh ecosystem\, and the plants and wildlife thriving in this protected space. Backpacks with fun activities\, including magnifying glasses and binoculars\, will be available for families to use while on the hike. \n \nCheck-in time: 11:30 am\nDuration: 30-45 Minutes \nMeeting Location: We will meet outside the front doors of the Living Coast Discovery Center located at 1000 Gunpowder Point Drive\, Chula Vista\, CA 91910. \nDriving directions: From the I5 freeway\, exit at E street and head west to the Living Coast Discovery Center parking lot. This hike location is located on a wildlife refuge\, and all visitors must park in the outer lot and take the free Living Coast Discovery Center shuttle. \nSuggested parking: This locations parking lot is located outside of a wildlife refuge. All visitors must take the free shuttle from the parking lot located on Gunpowder Point Drive. This lot is located at Gunpowder Point Drive\, Chula Vista CA 91910. \nRestrooms and Water: The nearest restrooms are located inside the front doors of the Living Coast Discovery Center. You do not have to pay to use the restrooms\, but if visitors choose to enter the facility to visit exhibits they must pay the admission fees. \nHike lengths: This trail is approximately 1 mile in length. \nProgram Supplies:  Please make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for hiking. Bringing a water bottle\, bug protection\, and sun protection are highly recommended. \nHiking level: Easy \nNo pets will be allowed on the hike.
