This hike location is located on a wildlife refuge\, and all visitors must park in the outer lot and take the free Living Coast Discovery Center shuttle. \nSuggested parking: This locations parking lot is located outside of a wildlife refuge. All visitors must take the free shuttle from the parking lot located on Gunpowder Point Drive. Take exit 7C onto E St.\, continuing to Bonita Rd. E. Make a U-turn onto Bonita Rd. W to turn into the parking lot \nSuggested Parking: There is a parking lot attached to the trailhead near the corner of Bonita Rd. and Plaza Bonita Rd.\, which is only accessible from the westbound side of Bonita Rd. \nRestrooms and Water: There are no restrooms or water stations at this location. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Trail to Bay Hike on the Tijuana Estuary as a part of Latino Conservation Week and Tijuana River Action Month! \nThe Tijuana Estuary is a marshland located in the most southwestern part of the United States. This flat trail takes you through the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve\, along the Imperial Beach coastline with the Mexican border in the background. Encounter native wildlife and plants in this unique and endangered ecosystem. \nDuring Latino Conservation Week\, September 13 to 21\, adults and youth will have the opportunity to experience the outdoors in new ways and learn how they can help protect our land\, water\, and air. Latino Conservation Week: Disfrutando y Conservando Nuestra Tierra is an initiative of Hispanic Access Foundation. \nTijuana River Action Month is a series of education and stewardship events held during September and October to benefit the Tijuana River Watershed. The goals of TRAM are to mobilize a record number of community volunteers and groups to become stewards of the Tijuana River Watershed\, and to recognize key efforts and investments by public and private agencies\, businesses\, non-profits\, and community groups to protect and restore the Tijuana River. \n \n  \nMeeting Location: We will meet outside the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center\, located at 301 Caspian Way\, Imperial Beach\, CA 91932. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Team Up to Clean Up event at the Sweetwater Marsh as a part of Latino Conservation Week! \nParticipants will pick up trash throughout the protected marsh and learn about the native plants and wildlife that live on the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Help us make a difference by keeping this critical coastal habitat clean! \nDuring Latino Conservation Week\, from September 13 to 21\, adults and youth will have the opportunity to experience the outdoors in new ways and learn how they can help protect our land\, water\, and air. Latino Conservation Week: Disfrutando y Conservando Nuestra Tierra is an initiative of Hispanic Access Foundation. \n \nMeeting Location: We will meet in the Living Coast Discovery Center’s parking lot\, located off Gunpowder Point Drive\, Chula Vista\, CA 91910. Once you park your vehicle\, look for the Living Coast canopy for check-in! \nDriving Directions: From the I-5 freeway\, take exit 8B onto E St. Head west to the Living Coast Discovery Center parking lot. \nSuggested Parking: Parking is available at the Living Coast Discovery Center Parking Lot. \nRestrooms: The nearest restrooms are located inside the front doors of the Living Coast Discovery Center. You do not have to pay to use the restrooms\, but if visitors choose to enter the facility to visit exhibits\, they must pay the admission fees. \nProgram Supplies: Buckets\, trash bags\, gloves\, safety vests\, and grabbers will be provided. DESCRIPTION:Join us every Saturday as we explore the Sweetwater Marsh Trail on the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge! We will learn about the history of the Sweetwater Marsh\, the salt marsh ecosystem\, and the plants and wildlife thriving in this protected space. Backpacks with fun activities\, including magnifying glasses and binoculars\, will be available for families to use while on the hike. \n \nCheck-in time: 11:30 am\nDuration: 30-45 Minutes \nMeeting Location: We will meet outside the front doors of the Living Coast Discovery Center located at 1000 Gunpowder Point Drive\, Chula Vista\, CA 91910. \nDriving directions: From the I5 freeway\, exit at E street and head west to the Living Coast Discovery Center parking lot. This hike location is located on a wildlife refuge\, and all visitors must park in the outer lot and take the free Living Coast Discovery Center shuttle. \nSuggested parking: This locations parking lot is located outside of a wildlife refuge. All visitors must take the free shuttle from the parking lot located on Gunpowder Point Drive. This lot is located at Gunpowder Point Drive\, Chula Vista CA 91910. \nRestrooms and Water: The nearest restrooms are located inside the front doors of the Living Coast Discovery Center. You do not have to pay to use the restrooms\, but if visitors choose to enter the facility to visit exhibits they must pay the admission fees. \nHike lengths: This trail is approximately 1 mile in length. \nProgram Supplies:  Please make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for hiking. Bringing a water bottle\, bug protection\, and sun protection are highly recommended. \nHiking level: Easy \nNo pets will be allowed on the hike.
