DESCRIPTION:Join us as we partner with the Free Flight Bird Sanctuary and Palomar College for a trilingual hike in Del Mar! We will have the opportunity to learn about the amazing local wildlife around the San Dieguito Lagoon and River Valley in English\, Spanish\, and American Sign Language. The hike will begin at the Free Flight Bird Sanctuary and continue on the Coast to Crest Trail. \nDate: Friday\, September 27\nCheck-in time: 11:00 AM\nDuration: 2 hours \n \nMeeting Location: We will be meeting outside of the Free Flight Bird Sanctuary at 2132 Jimmy Durante Blvd\, Del Mar. \nDriving directions: Follow I-5 N and take Exit 36 onto Via De La Valle in San Diego. Please check back for news as we learn more! \nSweetwater River Trail Hike \nJoin us for a bilingual guided hike\, during which we will discover the different native species that call the San Diego National Wildlife Refuge home! We will also see the distinctive view of San Miguel Mountain and learn about the importance of watersheds. The hike begins at the Sweetwater River Bridge and continues to a looped trail. \nDate: Sunday\, September 22nd\nCheck-in time: 9:00 AM\nDuration: 2 hours \n \nMeeting Location: We will meet at Millar Ranch Rd\, Spring Valley\, CA 92019 at the new trail parking lot. Look for the large flag with the Trail to Bay Challenge logo! \nDriving directions: Take 94 East until it turns into Campo Road. Turn right onto CA-94 E/Campo Road. Turn right onto Millar Ranch Rd. The parking area will be on your right. \nSuggested parking: Parking is available at the new trail parking lot\, and additional parking is available on the street at no cost. If you park on the street\, you must walk a short distance to join the group. \nRestrooms and Water: No restrooms or water stations are available on the trail. Take exit 7C onto E St.\, continuing to Bonita Rd. E. Make a U-turn onto Bonita Rd. W to turn into the parking lot \nSuggested parking: There is a parking lot attached to the trailhead near the corner of Bonita Rd. and Plaza Bonita Rd.\, which is only accessible from the westbound side of Bonita Rd. \nRestrooms and Water: There are no restrooms or water stations at this location\, so please plan accordingly! Turn right onto Main St and continue for approximately 2.2 miles. Turn left onto Broadway and continue as it turns into Beyer Blvd. The entrance to the parking lot will be on your right\, roughly .5 miles from Main Street. \nSuggested parking: This park offers a dirt/gravel lot with limited spaces. All visitors must take the free shuttle from the parking lot located on Gunpowder Point Drive. This lot is located at Gunpowder Point Drive\, Chula Vista CA 91910. \nRestrooms and Water: The nearest restrooms are located inside the front doors of the Living Coast Discovery Center.
