DESCRIPTION:Join us as we explore the Sweetwater Park Trail! Located in Bonita\, this equestrian trail showcases a unique habitat with a mix of native and non-native plant species. In addition to learning about plant adaptations\, expect a mix of sunny and shady areas and traces of native wildlife! \nDate: August 18th\, 2024\nCheck-in time: 9:00 AM\nDuration: 2 hours \n \nMeeting Location: We will meet at Sweetwater Park Trail\, Bonita\, CA 91902\, off Bonita Rd. \nDriving directions: CA 94 E to I 805 S. Take exit 7C onto E St.\, continuing to Bonita Rd. E. Make a U-turn onto Bonita Rd. W to turn into the parking lot \nSuggested parking: There is a parking lot attached to the trailhead near the corner of Bonita Rd. and Plaza Bonita Rd.\, which is only accessible from the westbound side of Bonita Rd. \nRestrooms and Water: There are no restrooms or water stations at this location\, so please plan accordingly! The closest restroom is in the small shopping center across the street from the trailhead parking lot\, 3041-47 Bonita Rd\, Chula Vista\, CA 91910. \nHike lengths: This out-and-back trail is approximately 2 miles in length. \nHiking level: Easy \nPlease wear comfortable clothes and shoes for hiking. It is highly recommended that you bring a water bottle\, bug protection\, and sun protection. No pets will be allowed on the hike.

Lower your carbon footprint\, divert waste\, and enhance your garden all with one solution. Join us for a one-hour workshop to get you started and answer questions. (Included with cost of admission) \nOn the first Sunday of the month\, the compost workshop will be offered in English and Spanish. On the last Sunday of the month\, the workshop will cover Vermicomposting! \nCompost bins are available for $35 to Chula Vista residents who have attended one of the City’s composting workshops or the Master Composter Course. \nChula Vista residents can receive free admission to the Living Coast on select Sundays! Click here to sign up.
