DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Team Up to Clean Up event at Pepper Park and help us protect and care for our coastal environment! Participants will pick up trash throughout the park and around the National City Boat Launch\, try to spot wildlife near the Sweetwater Channel\, and learn how we can all make a difference by keeping our parks and waterways clean! \n \nDate: December 10\, 2023\nCheck-in time: 9:00 am\nDuration: 2 hours \nMeeting Location: Pepper Park is located at 3299 Tidelands Ave.\, National City\, CA 91950. We will meet next to the Pepper Park parking lot on the grassy area next to the restrooms and boat launching ramp. Look for the Living Coast Canopy. \nDriving directions: Take the Bay Marina Dr. (Mile of Cars Way) exit in National City and head west. At the stoplight\, turn left onto Marina Way. Follow Marina Way until it turns into W 32 st. then turn left onto Tidelands Ave. Parking is available in the parking lot next to Pepper Park. \nSuggested parking: Parking is available at the Pepper Park parking lot. \nRestrooms and Water: There are park restrooms available at this location. \nProgram Supplies: Buckets\, trash bags\, gloves\, safety vests\, and grabbers will be provided. Please make sure to bring water and wear comfortable clothes\, closed-toed shoes\, and sun/bug protection! \n  \n \n  \n

(Included with cost of admission) \nOn the first Sunday of the month\, the compost workshop will be offered in English and Spanish. On the last Sunday of the month\, the workshop will cover Vermicomposting! \nCompost bins are available for $35 to Chula Vista residents who have attended one of the City’s composting workshops or the Master Composter Course. \nChula Vista residents can receive free admission to the Living Coast on select Sundays! Click here to sign up.
