LCDC in the news

We’ve been busy: What a week for media!

First there was last Tuesday’s Chula Vista City Council Meeting in which LCDC Executive Director Ben Vallejos thanked outgoing Mayor Charyl Cox for all her support.  See the video here.

On Wednesday, Fox 5 News’ Jason Handman came to the Living Coast to visit a few of our Animal Ambassadors and talk about Winter Day Camps for kids and our family-friendly New Years Eve celebration. Many thanks to our lead educator, Elizabeth Argyle, for showing Jason around!

Then, on Thursday LCDC’s Animal Care Manager Lindsay Bradshaw, brought Indi, our Chuckwalla, to San Diego 6’s Wake Up San Diego to talk about Gift Memberships and our Animal Care Wish List. Take a look at both News stories below.

Giving Tuesday Huge Success PS You Can Keep Giving

LDCD heroes give big to support Animal Care on #GivingTuesday

Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, was a worldwide special day of giving.  We put together a great Wish List of necessary items for the care of our animals. We were able to raise over $700 for our animals!

If you gave to support our Wish List, thank you!

If you still want to give, even though #GivingTuesday has passed, there are still a few things on our Wish List

Giving Tuesday December 2

The Living Coast Discovery Center is participating in Giving Tuesday, a national initiative designed to encourage individuals to give to non-profits during a dedicated day of giving. There is a day for giving thanks, a day for deals, a day for shopping small, and a day for shopping online, but December 2, 2014 is a special day for giving back to the community.

Please consider making a gift in support of our animal ambassadors on #GivingTuesday.

Our goal is to raise $5000 in support of our animals during this 24-hour on-line campaign. If you would like to give, please visit our wish list.  Thanks in advance for choosing to support the animals that call the Living Coast home on #GivingTuesday!

If you have any questions about Giving Tuesday, please contact: Jessica LaFave at 619-409-5900 or jessica@thelivingcoast.org
